Volunteers

Volunteers are essential. It is only with their contributions that we can offer medical care in our clinics. Doctors, nurses, nurse practitioner, registrars, cashiers--and interpreters--make it possible. In addition, volunteers are essential in registering people for GRID cards (Goshen Resident ID cards), building community with our vulnerable neighbors.Drs. Shelly and Ranzinger

Our clinics rely on volunteers in several roles:

Medical staff: We rely on about 22 doctors and 55 nurses and nurse practitioners to staff our clinics.

Interpreters: Because we serve a high percentage of people for whom Spanish is their first language, at every clinic we have bilingual volunteers who can interpret as necessary.

Clergy: We have a pastor or priest at every Goshen clinic, available to minister to the spiritual needs of our patients.

Administrative support: Our administrative volunteers help patients complete forms, file paperwork, take cash payments, and greet our patients.

Student interns: We work with colleges and universities to provide opportunities for their students to do internships with us, helping them get practical experience in the practice of medicine.
