The Veva (Hershberger) and Leonard Garber Tribute Terrace

Center for Healing & Hope is pleased to be the home of the Veva (Hershberger) and Leonard Garber Tribute Terrace, located at the front entrance of our clinic at 400 W. Lincoln Ave. in Goshen.

Upon Veva’s passing in 2024 at the age of 102, we learned we were designated as a place friends and family could make tribute donations to in her memory. Because of Veva and Leonard’s commitment to Center for Healing & Hope, and their love of the outdoors, Veva and Leonard’s daughter Linda and husband Ron Gunden began to explore with us the possibility of installing a memorial area at the entrance of the clinic to honor Veva’s legacy, but also where all people who care for the mission of Center for Healing & Hope could be represented. From those conversations, and wider involvement from the family, we began to develop the Veva (Hershberger) and Leonard Garber Tribute Terrace.

A “Blessing of the Bricks” was held on October 9, 2025 – the one year anniversary of Veva’s passing. Leonard and several of his children, friends, and family attended alongside other community members who had bricks installed for the first time.

Today, the terrace is a living tribute to our community, our mission, our faith, and our world. The brick engraving campaign is ongoing. Order your brick at any time using the button below. Brick orders are placed twice a year, in April and October. When you purchase a brick, it’s added to the next scheduled order. Proceeds from brick sales benefit Center for Healing & Hope. As Leonard stated, help us complete this “mosaic of gratitude.”
